Hi! I’m Atena Akrami

I didn't find Tantra. Tantra found me at the exact moment I was brave enough to let my old life go.

I’m a Tantra teacher, embodiment and intimacy coach passionate about creating spaces where people can safely explore deeper connection with themselves, others, and life itself.

I was born in Iran. When I was six years old, my parents made the decision that would shape the rest of my life. They smuggled our family across the border, through nights of fear and real danger, to reach Sweden and the possibility of freedom and citizenship. Their courage is something I carry with me every day.

Growing up in Sweden as an immigrant child, I learned resilience early. I moved through the world with determination, thrived in sport and movement, and eventually became a lawyer. From the outside, everything looked stable, a career, a long relationship, a life that made sense.

But inside, something was missing. I was living entirely from my head. Disconnected from my body, from my truth, from any sense of real aliveness.

At 30, I reached a point of no return. I left my job, ended an 11-year relationship, and set off without a clear plan on a journey of healing and spiritual exploration.

Bali was the first door. There, I discovered yoga and for the first time, I felt present in my own body. Peaceful. Alive. Free in a way I hadn't known was possible.

What followed was years of deep immersion: Vipassana meditation retreats at a monastery in Nepal. Sacred shamanic ceremonies with indigenous communities in the Amazon. Initiations into the Sri Vidya lineage of Classical Tantra, Kriyayoga Initiation and training in person by Yogiraj Siddanath Gurunath, Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya by Sadhguru. Certified Trauma-Informed Tantra Facilitator by London School of Tantra. Multiple Yoga teacher trainings. Breathwork. Energy work. The slow, beautiful unravelling of everything I'd been told I was supposed to be.

Tantra met me at my deepest layer. It offered a path to the sacred that includes the body, the senses, pleasure, and sexuality rather than transcending them. For the first time, I didn’t have to choose between spirit and flesh, discipline and desire.

I don’t teach from theory alone, I guide from embodied experience. My path of embodiment and Tantra has been deeply influenced by experiences of trauma, healing, the search for identity and belonging, the loss of the life I once imagined, and the discovery of the one that was truly mine, while reclaiming freedom in my body, desires, and purpose. As an Iranian woman walking this path, this work carries profound personal and collective meaning. It has meant moving through layers of cultural conditioning and inherited shame around the body and sexuality that were never mine to hold.

What I offer is not just technique, but a homecoming, a space of deep presence where you are gently invited to meet yourself fully, held and supported in the process.

Today, sharing Tantra is an act of reclamation both personal and part of a wider movement toward freedom, especially for women who have not yet had the space to access it.
